"Comments from Students"

“I think it has helped improve on all my skills. I’ve brushed up in math, filing, typing, communication skills, and even things that are common knowledge. I have learned to answer the phone in the proper want and feel more comfortable doing it.

I have a better prospect on applying for jobs and more confidence. I know more about Microsoft Word and even learning Excel. I think I have a better chance at having a career than just a gob to go to everyday.

Sometimes we have so much hands on that we don’t get a chance to work on our books, so I would like to take homework home that way if you get a chance to work on it at home we have the chance.”

“I have been taking the Clerical Skills Program at Watertown Area Career Learning Center since April 24th.

I really enjoy the class and look forward to coming every morning. I have learned a lot about the computer since I started, I didn’t even know how to turn the computer on or off. I now know Microsoft Word and some about Microsoft Excel. I have learned how to use the fax machine, the copier, the calculator, the typewriter, and how to use a multi-line phone system. I have learned about proofreading and some basic math skills. We are just getting started in accounting.

I really enjoy the people who work here, they are all very helpful and friendly. Our instructor is very knowledgeable and patient, and willing to help us in any way. She helps with resumes and interviews and stress management. I feel a lot more comfortable with the computer and a lot more confident that I will be able to find the kind of job I really want. I am very glad I was told about this course.”
