2004 Women In Science Forum held on March 10th was a huge Success. The first Watertown Area Women-In-Science Day was held on March 7. Over 160 participants from Northeast South Dakota schools learned about the potential careers available in science and math. The local presenters who inspired these students were Lynn Arne, Owner/Director, Arne Funeral Home in Clark; Jaime Stricker, Zoo Educator, Bramble Park Zoo; and Mona Gleysteen, Medical Lab Tech Department Chair, LATI. They were awesome! We would also like to thank the following local organizations for helping to make this day such a success: Watertown Area Career Learning Center, Lake Area Multi-District, Lake Area Technical Institute, Nova School, South Dakota Career Center, Prairie Lakes Healthcare System, Glacial Lakes Energy, Rotary International, Pepsi Cola, and Coca-Cola. |
